DescriptionStudents develop knowledge, skills and understanding of the nature, type and structure of the workplace. They develop understanding of the changing nature of work, industrial relations, legislation, safe and sustainable workplace practices and local, national, and global issues in an industry and workplace context.

Undertaking learning in the workplace in a range of different ways( including using part time employment ) allowing the development and reflection on capabilities, interests and aspirations. The subject may include the undertaking of vocational education and training (VET) as provided under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) for those involved in a courses.

     Vocational Learning
     Vocational Education and Training (VET)
AssessmentSchool-based Assessment: All tasks are completed around a specific chosen career pathway within a focus industry eg: Automotive, Plumbing, Education, Retail, Hospitality, Accountancy and others.

Assessment Type 1: Folio (requires completion of three tasks - Finding Employment, Work, Health and Safety and Changing Nature of Work.) - 25%
Assessment Type 2: Performance (requires 30 – 60 hours of work placement including documentation and reflection for career focus) - 25%
Assessment Type 3: Reflection (Two reflections required: one on work placement and one on an issue in the workplace) - 20% each task

External Assessment
Investigation - 30%

The Investigation may be either a practical investigation or an issues investigation. This will be negotiated with teacher.
