Description | Combined with Mathematical Methods A, this subject leads to Stage 2 Mathematical Methods or General Mathematics. Mathematical Methods provides the foundation for further study in mathematics, economics, engineering, computer science, and the sciences.
This subject focuses on the development of mathematical skills and techniques that enable students to explore, describe, and explain aspects of the world around them in a mathematical way. It places mathematics in relevant context and deals with relevant phenomena from the students’ common experiences, as well as from scientific, professional, and social contexts.

Assessment | Assessment is school based but subject to final moderation. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through two assessment types: Skills and Applications Tasks (3 tests - 75%) and a Mathematical Investigation (25%), four assessment tasks in total.
