DescriptionThis course is designed for students with a keen interest in graphic design visual communication, and marketing.

We focus on the application of practical skills to provide digital creative solutions to visual communication tasks. A great emphasis is placed on the design process and professional publishing.

Through this course students become more powerful communicators through the use of visual design principles and sophisticated choices in the production of digital presentations and print media.

Students are encouraged to use the Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) to generate solutions. This includes promotional material for online advertising and printed graphic design items. Students work collaboratively and independently to develop a variety of design items.
TopicsStudents explore the following themes but are not limited to:
• Typography
• Brand identity and logo development
• Collaborative design processes
• Printed promotional material

Online advertising with social media
• Textile (clothing + cap) printing
AssessmentStudents are assessed on practical and theoretical components against the Australian Curriculum achievement standards.
