Description
This course focuses on the role of food preparation in creating suitable products for a variety of settings reflective of trends. In practical applications, students further develop their skill base and demonstrate their understanding of safe management practices.
Topics
Safe Management Practices
Students investigate safe management practices in relation to the correct storing, serving and handling of food.
Foods for Life
Students identify the need to create suitable food products focusing particularly on quality control in food production. Additionally, students will use their understanding of Food Trends to meet current markets.
Assessment
Students are assessed against the Australian Curriculum Year 9 achievement standards
