Description
Students prepare design and plan meals, modify recipes and prepare food orders. Students consider the importance of nutritious foods and develop suitable food products.
Topics
Safe Management Practices
Students learn safe management practices in relation to the correct storing, serving, and handling of food.
Local and Cultural Influences
Students analyse how characteristics and properties of food determine preparation techniques and presentation when designing solutions for healthy eating. Utilising and analysing a range of food trends to develop recipes and plan, prepare and promote contemporary ideas to identified design briefs.
Assessment
Students are assessed against the Australian Curriculum Year 9 Achievement Standards
